Work Experience
January 2002 to present
Freelance designer
Since becoming a freelance designer I am involved in projects in a much more all round way. I discuss all the clients needs and put together ideas, costs and timings.
I will offer my opinion, make suggestions and can taylor work to clients budgets if need be.
I try to meet face-to-face with clients at various points in a project. I am always keen to make sure clients are aware of progress and understand that projects may need to shift as they develop.
I am always happy to work alongside other companies if the project involves this and am comfortable discussing and communicating design briefs.
I can help clients who have no web knowledge and provide guidance in registering web site address, finding hosting and email set up.
May 2000 to January 2002
Avatar Interactive, Alton, Hampshire
Web site development, design, build and maintenance. Kiosk user interface design, screensavers, 2D animation and illustration.
I was part of the desig team and worked very closely with producers and the technical department. I discussed ideas and issues with clients and enjoyed face-to-face contact.
I spent the last 14 months of my time at Avatar working on the redesign and build of the National Trust web site. I worked on the project from initial design and development, through to the building and restructuring of the site. I was heavily involved in the day-to-day maintenance and was happy to talk with members of the Trust regarding the changes and additions they wished to make to the site. I also trained members of the National Trust staff so they could use templates that I created for all sections of the main site. I also helped generate new ideas and looked for new ways to keep it up to date and of interest to new and return users.
