GamesJobsDirect is a web board targeting the gaming industry.
Their website was built using templates originally created by Allthetopbananas.com. As the lead designer for the project I was tasked with developing a design that fitted with the templates, but gave GJD their own unique look and feel.
I re-created the original logo in Illustrator as a vectorised image was unavailable. The client wanted a logo refresh and I suggested different colours. The new purple and green colour combination was agreed upon and this colour palette was then used across the website. I selected the font combination and planned the layout of all images giving the site an overall feeling of 'gaming'.
Homepage headings, straplines and general content was written along with providing areas for blogs, recruiter logos and advertising spaces.
GJD has a never ending bank of to-die-for high res gaming graphics. I suggested featuring different images each month to keep the site fresh. This idea was developed into a new feature called 'Homepage Takeovers' for recruiting games companies. Companies now pay for their graphics to be featured across the home, register and login pages on a monthly basis. This not only benefits companies, as their graphics attract job seekers, but also acts as an extra revenue stream for GJD.
